--Mrs. Baab teaches 7th and 8th grade English/language arts and a class on the novel. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bowling Green University in Ohio and a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College.

Bean, Jeffrey--jbean@flintschools.org
--Mr. Bean is the I/B Coordinator at Whittier and teaches 10th grade English. He received a B.A. in urban studies and language arts and a Master of Education from Marygrove, where he was a Shell Urban Scholar. He is certified in the areas of learning styles, multiple intelligences, and brain-based education. Mr. Bean co-authored Freedom Now: A Civil Rights Text from the Peoples' Perspective, published by The American Social History Project and The Southern Poverty Law Center.

Blakley, Sarah--sblakley@flintschools.org
-- Ms. Blakley attended Eastern Michigan University, from which she received a B.S. in mathematics and science. She has taught 7th and 8th grade math at Whittier for two years.

Cook, Al--acook@flintschools.org
-- Mr. Cook, who teaches 10th grade science and health, earned a B.S. in microbiology and chemistry from Howard University. He is working on a Master's Degree in Administrative Education at Ferris.

Dickinson, Gordon--gdickinson@flintschools.org
-- Mr. Dickinson, the physical education instructor, has a B.A. in physical education and mathematics from Western Michigan University. Later, he earned a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Dickinson is also a certified driver's education teacher.

--Ms. Duncan, who teaches dance at Whittier, earned a B.A. in dance from Western Michigan University. She has danced professionally in Chicago and gives private lessons.

Fornero, Sarah--sfornero@flintschools.org
-- Miss Fornero received a Bachelor's Degree in Education with concentrations in mathematics and psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She teaches pre-algebra, algebra, and Title I math.

Fox, Margaret--mfox@flintschools.org
--Currently teaching psychology, world government, and early American history, Ms. Fox came to Whittier from Central High School, where she was chosen Saginaw Valley Teacher of the Year and worked on the American Social History Project. Central's Alumni Association named Ms. Fox a distinguished teacher. She has a B.A. in social sciences and math from the University of Michigan-Flint and a Master in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College.

Greene, Sandra--sgreene@flintschools.org
--The head secretary, Mrs. Greene has both an Associate's Degree and B.A. in business administration. After being a secretary in Flint schools for more than 20 years, she came to Whittier when it became the Classical Academy in August 2006. Mrs. Greene enjoys interacting with students, bowling, and traveling.

--Ms. Guajardo, our Spanish teacher, received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Biology from Saginaw Valley State University. She is highly qualified in both Spanish and biology. Ms. Guajardo enjoys coaching.

Harris, Julia Ford--jharris1@flintschools.org
-- Our instrumental music teacher, Ms. Harris ia a cellist with the Flint Symphony and teaches cello at the Flint Institute of Music. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan-Flint and a Master's Degree in Music from Michigan State University. Ms. Harris has done post-graduate work at the University of Michigan and Marygrove College. Currently she conducts the Flint Youth String Orchestra.

Hurd, Reiko--rhurd@flintschools.org
--Mr. Hurd received a B.A. in English and physical education from Wayne State University and an M.A. in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Hurd teaches 8th and 9th grade English.

--Our technology instructor, Ms. Jeffries got a B.A. in business education from Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia. She has an M.B.A. and an M.S. in instructional technology from Philadelphia University.

Joseph, Noble R.--njoseph@flintschools.org
-- The counselor at WCA, Mr. Joseph has a B.A. from the University of Lucknow, India. He earned a Master's Degree in Education from Olivet Nazarene University, Kankakee, Illinois and another in guidance and counseling from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Joseph received a MSW and an LPC from the State of Michigan.

Lynch, Alan--alynch@flintschools.org
-- Mr. Lynch teaches vocal music at WCA. He received his B.A. in music from Albion College. He obtained Kodály Certification from the University of Saint Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota.

--Mrs. Mockles, certified in history and social science, has a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. She teaches 7th grade geography.

-- Mrs. Payne became the principal of Whittier Classical Academy in August 2007. She has both a B.S. and an M.A. in education from Eastern Michigan University. Mrs. Payne enjoys reading and traveling.

Ryan, Robert--rryan@flintschools.org
--Mr. Ryan, who teaches 7th and 8th grade science, has a B.S. in the education of the physically/otherwise health impaired from Eastern Michigan University and an M.A. in public policy from Regent University. He has been deemed highly qualified to teach middle school science.

--Ms. Sheldon received a B.A. in education, French, and history from the University of Michigan-Flint. She teaches French I and II.

--Mr. Trombley teaches honors physical science and honors high school earth science at Whittier. Earning a B.S. in earth and general science, which includes biology, physics, chemistry, and geology, from the University of Michigan-Flint, he is certified to teach earth, general, and integrated sciences.
