French I
--Students will explore basic French grammar, vocabulary, and culture. The themes of this course include respect, tolerance, global awareness, and travel. The students obtain a structural awareness of French through speaking and listening activities.

French II
--Course themes, with the addition of language application in the real world, remain the same. Learners will explore conjugation of verbs and a deeper understanding of culture. Listening and speaking activities are stressed.

 

Spanish I
--Students are introduced to Spanish language and culture, including the skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Spanish II
--Continuing the study of Spanish language and culture, students read, write, listen, and speak ; oral communication is emphasized.

Spanish III
--Study of Spanish language and culture, including review of the basic elements of the language and further acquisition of communication skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Emphasis on Spanish as an international language system and cultural system.

Spanish IV
--A comprehensive review of the Spanish language and culture and intensive work in written and oral communication, this classes emphasizes Spanish as an international language and cultural system.

Spanish V
--Students will intensively study Spanish grammar, stylistics and pronunciation readings, lectures, and guided and free discussion. Composition as a process will be addressed.

Spanish VI
--This class involves the study of major Latin writings including: Garcia Marquez, Rudolfo Vargas Llosa, Carpentier, Laura Esquivel, Isabel Allende, Rosario Ferre, and others.

Spanish VII
--This course is a comprehensive review of the major elements of written and oral Spanish. The class will include extensive practice of the more difficult grammatical structures as well as the addition of idiomatic expressions. Course work will deal with written and oral review exercises, compositions, presentations, and discussion.
