Linda Baab

Mrs. Baab has taught 7th and 8th grade English/language arts and a class on the novel since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bowling Green University in Ohio and a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College.

 

Jeffrey Bean

Mr. Bean is the I/B Coordinator at the Flint Classical Academy has taught 10th grade English since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy. He received a B.A. in urban studies and language arts and a Master of Education from Marygrove, where he was a Shell Urban Scholar. He is certified in the areas of learning styles, multiple intelligences, and brain-based education. Mr. Bean co-authored Freedom Now: A Civil Rights Text from the Peoples' Perspective , published by The American Social History Project and The Southern Poverty Law Center.

 

Eugene Berry

Mr. Berry is a first year art teacher at the Flint Classical Academy. Previously he worked as the fine arts steward for the Flint Community School District.

 

 

Sarah Blakley

Mrs. Blakley attended Eastern Michigan University, from which she received a B.S. in mathematics and science. She has taught 7th and 8th grade math at the classical academy since it's origination.

 

Al Cook

Mr. Cook, who teaches 10th grade science and health at the Flint Classical Academy since it's origination, earned a B.S. in microbiology and chemistry from Howard University. He is working on a Master's Degree in Administrative Education at Ferris.

 

Gordon Dickinson

gdickinson@flintschools.org

Mr. Dickinson whom has been the physical education instructor since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy, has a B.A. in physical education and mathematics from Western Michigan University. Later, he earned a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Dickinson is also a certified driver's education teacher.

 

Sarah Fornero

Miss Fornero received a Bachelor's Degree in Education with concentrations in mathematics and psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has taught pre-algebra, algebra, and Title I math since 2007.

 

Margaret Fox

Currently teaching psychology, world government, and early American history, Ms. Fox came to the Flint Classical Academy at it's origination from Central High School, where she was chosen Saginaw Valley Teacher of the Year and worked on the American Social History Project. Central's Alumni Association named Ms. Fox a distinguished teacher. She has a B.A. in social sciences and math from the University of Michigan-Flint and a Master in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College.

 

Julia Ford Harris

Our instrumental music teacher, Ms. Harris ia a cellist with the Flint Symphony and teaches cello at the Flint Institute of Music. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan-Flint and a Master's Degree in Music from Michigan State University. Ms. Harris has done post-graduate work at the University of Michigan and Marygrove College. Currently she conducts the Flint Youth String Orchestra.

 

Shirron Jeffries

Our technology instructor, Ms. Jeffries got a B.A. in business education from Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia. She has an M.B.A. and an M.S. in instructional technology from Philadelphia University.

 

 

Alan Lynch

Mr. Lynch has taught vocal music since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy. He received his B.A. in music from Albion College. He obtained Kodály Certification from the University of Saint Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota.

 

 

Sherry Mockles

Mrs. Mockles, certified in history and social science, has a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. She has taught 7th grade geography since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy.

 

DeWain Molter

Our geometry and advanced algebra teacher, Mr. Molter received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science and an MBA from University of Michigan-Flint.

 

Alberto Newball

Mr. Newball is the long term substitute for spanish at the Flint Classical Academy. The 2008-2009 school year is his first year as a spanish teacher with our school.

 

Robert Ryan

Mr. Ryan, who has taught 7th and 8th grade science since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy, has a B.S. in the education of the physically/otherwise health impaired from Eastern Michigan University and an M.A. in public policy from Regent University. He has been deemed highly qualified to teach middle school science.

 

Marcy Sheldon

Ms. Sheldon received a B.A. in education, French, and history from the University of Michigan-Flint and has taught French I and II since the 2007-2008 school year.

 

Jarrett Trombley

Mr. Trombley has taught honors physical science and honors high school earth science since the origination of the Flint Classical Academy. Earning a B.S. in earth and general science, which includes biology, physics, chemistry, and geology, from the University of Michigan-Flint, he is certified to teach earth, general, and integrated sciences.

 

Regina Wortham

Mrs. Wortham began teaching Language Arts at the classical academy in 2008-2009 school year. She earned an Associates in Science, B.A., and a Masters of Arts from the University of Michigan. Previous to coming to the Classical Academy she taught at the Flint Central Commencement as a high school literature teacher. She has been on the ACT team, the EDP team, the school improvement team, a class sponsor, and an events coordinator.
