MEAP Testing will start on October 14, 2008. Please ensure that all students get a good nights sleep and eat a well balanced breakfast. We have excelled in the past and are confident that we will continue to strive to only get better.

 

The GISD has scheduled an All-County spelling bee for 2008/2009. October 14, 2008 is the deadline for registration. Any student that is interested should sign up in the office.

 

The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is seeking members for the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy. Girls ages 11 through 14 are encouraged to sign up. Applications can be found in the office.

 

All Students must have a bus pass to ride. NO EXCEPTIONS! Temporary bus passes cost $1.00; sticker $2.50; and replacement ID Cards cost $10.00.

NO PASS = NO RIDE

 

To benefit the American Society's Walk for life on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Genesee Valley Mall, we will be having a dress down day for $1.00 on Friday. If you are interested in participating please see Mrs. Blakley in room 116 or call the main office.

 

School Pictures will be held on Monday, October 13 - come looking your best and have your order forms ready. Any school appropriate shirt will be allowed, however, no denim pants are allowed.

 

Recycling contest is now underway. We have a challenge ahead of us this year. Northern and Davison High schools think that they are going to win. We need the help of every student, parent, and teacher to be sucessful this year. Listen to the announcements for updates and information.

 

Any student that wishes to use the phone in the office must bring $0.50

 

The 18th Annual African American Heritage Tour will be from February 11-17 2009. Universities from Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina will be visited. Get your flyer in the main office. Thank you Mrs. Coleman.

 

Staff and students - Don't forget to bring in your donations to support the Salvation Army's Coats for Kids program - The kettle is in the office.

 

Attention Juniors! Are you looking for a part time job? See Mr. Milow in the Central counseling office. He can help you with your resume, applications, interview prep, and job placement.
